  1. It is generally safe to stay in India, but not as much as mainland India. There are only two ATMs on Havelock islands so it is advisable to have enough cash even if you have a credit or debit card.
  2. Non-Indians have a 30-day Restricted Area Permit(RAP). Non-Indians can get their permits at Port Blair Airport upon arrival. But, foreigners cannot stay in hotels on the Andaman Islands without a RAP. Moreover, the requirements for obtaining a Restricted Area Permit are extremely strict in the Andamans. However, Indians don’t need a permit to visit the Andaman Islands as they are a part of India.
